On Screen are running TWO films in April:

Saturday 13th  April at 2pm Mary Poppins Returns – a family friendly special show with tickets at only £3 each – adults or children. Advanced booking only and each child must be accompanied by an adult. Beanbags are welcome and we recommend children bring a sealed drink. Snacks including popcorn are available for a donation.

Twenty years after Mary Poppins left the Banks family, Michael Banks ( Ben Wishaw) is now a widowed father of three who is in debt and risks losing the family home. So Mary ( Emily Blunt) comes back to save the family one more time!

One critic writes, "this film has "boundless creativity, stacks of charm and not a cynical second. If it’s not quite practically perfect, it comes close enough"

Friday 26th April at 7.30pm Stan and Ollie – Laurel and Hardy -- the world's greatest comedy team -- face an uncertain future as their golden era of Hollywood films remain long behind them. Diminished by age, the duo set out to reconnect with their adoring fans by touring variety halls in Britain in 1953. The shows become an instant hit, but Stan and Ollie can't quite shake the past as long-buried tension and Hardy's failing health start to threaten their precious partnership. Steve Coogan as Stan and John C Reilly as Ollie give performances that are among the best that either has ever given.

And later in the year...

Friday May 17th at 7.30pm A Star is Born - Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers - and falls in love with - struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons. With a string of awards for Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga this is a film not to be missed.

Friday June 21st at 7.30pm The Green Room - Dr Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist, who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighbourhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation. Winner of the Academy and Golden Globe awards for Best Movie 2018 this is a thought provoking and simultaneously amusing film that you will all enjoy.
