Friday June 21st at 7.30pm The Green Book - Dr Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist, who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighbourhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation. Winner of the Academy and Golden Globe awards for Best Movie 2018 this is a thought provoking and simultaneously amusing film that you will all enjoy.

Our July screening will be Fisherman's Friends on Friday 19th July at 7.30pm.

A heart-warming feel-good story inspired by the true story of the Fisherman’s Friends, an all-male a capella folk singing group from Port Isaac in Cornwall who in the noughties became an unexpected hit for their authentic sea shanties. This has a great cast of familiar faces who tell the story with a considerable degree of credibility and humour.

Tickets are £5 and as always, please book in advance at the library to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to seeing you!

Kind regards
