County Council Chairman says ‘Thank You’ to social workers

The Chairman of Buckinghamshire County Council, Netta Glover, held an event to thank social workers who support some of the county’s most vulnerable adults and children, in recognition of the difference they make to communities across Buckinghamshire.

Celebrating the dedication of social workers, their support teams and managers, Netta said “Social workers are the front line of support for our most vulnerable children and adults. We wanted to take this opportunity to recognise and thank all of our committed social work staff, who are working very hard to provide support where and when it is needed. We are truly lucky as an organisation to have such a dedicated and talented team.

“We’ve made good progress over the last few years with recruiting many more permanent social workers and we make it a priority to support our social work teams to develop their skills and practice. This in turn helps them do their best to support children, young people and adults who need our help.”

Also attending the event were Gill Quinton, Executive Director of Communities, Health & Adult Social Care and Tolis Vouyioukas, Executive Director of Children’s Services. Tolis said: “Gill and I are very pleased to see our social care staff get some recognition for the hard work that they do across the whole council, they really deserve it.”
