Meet Racing Legend Mark Webber and Help Support the County’s Future Workforce

Bucks businesses are being encouraged to support a fundraising charity event for the Aylesbury College Trust to help educate the County’s future workforce. Mark Webber, Porsche World Endurance driver, former Formula One driver, local resident and Buckinghamshire Ambassador, who is Patron of the Aylesbury College Trust, will be hosting the ‘Mark Webber Youth Challenge’ event at Silverstone on 29 May.

Businesses interested in supporting the charity have a unique opportunity to have lunch in the exclusive British Racing Drivers’ Club at Silverstone. The Club, home to the most successful racing drivers, is not normally open to the public. Tickets are now available for a Business Lunch including a Pimms drinks reception and charity auction.

Karen Mitchell, Principal of Aylesbury College said: “As well as helping our young people in their education and supporting a great teambuilding event, this is a rare chance to meet Mark Webber in an informal setting and enjoy the fantastic views of the track from the Club.”

Young people involved in the challenge will represent teams from Aylesbury College, Amersham & Wycombe College and Buckinghamshire New University. They will compete in endurance events, and Krypton Factor style challenges, with the final event of a race round the National Circuit on hand cycles, which have been generously supplied by Wheelpower.

Proceeds from the Business Lunch and charity auction will help students who need additional financial support to develop their skills and their education, therefore helping the future workforce in Bucks.

Local businesses who would like tickets to the Business Lunch or to work with ACT should contact info@aylesburycollegetrust.org.
