Will you make your boat go faster?

42 attendees from business across Bucks and the surrounding areas came together to hear an inspiring speech from Ben Hunt-Davis MBE, Olympic Gold medallist and director of Will It Make The Boat Go Faster?  Speaking at the latest networking evening to be held by the Chilterns MS Centre, he gave the crowd an emphatic account of how the GB’s mens rowing eight threw out the training rulebook and used 3 simple principles to turn their performance into a winning one at the Sydney Olympics.

This glimpse of what life was like in the team gave everyone a real insight into the simple questions that you need to ask in order to improve performance of any kind.  In Ben’s case any decision made was decided on what was most important – will it make the boat go faster?

The Wendover-based charity holds networking evenings for local businesses and its Corporate Friends, to help connect with other businesses, share ideas, and raise money to support local people with multiple sclerosis.  Signing up as a Corporate Friend can be a really rewarding experience for businesses who want to support the communities around them.  If you would like more information on the Corporate Friends scheme, or other opportunities available at the Centre please visit www.chilternsmscentre.org or contact Sharon Cooper on 01296 823048.
