Feeding the community: the Rothschild Foundation relaunch scheme that provides meals for vulnerable local residents
In March 2020, the Rothschild Foundation, a Buckinghamshire-based charity that supports arts and heritage, the environment and social welfare, funded a scheme to provide meals for school children and local residents who were shielding. Today, the Rothschild Foundation has announced that the scheme is recommencing.
The Clare Foundation in partnership with The Big Community Takeaway, One Can Trust, Buckinghamshire Council, High Wycombe Community Board and Wycombe Wanderers Sports and Educational Trust ran a pilot hot meal delivery service in High Wycombe on the evening of the 22 December to help the vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Independent pub group, Oakman Inns, which owns eight pubs across Buckinghamshire, is looking beyond the current restrictions on trading to capitalise on the post-pandemic market conditions to grow the size of its business.
