Wendover Choral Society - Spring Concert
A Springtime Celebration with Wendover Choral Society
Those of you who were part of the bumper audience for our performance of Handel’s Messiah in December will know what a fantastic event it was. But how do you top such an event? Well, for our Spring concert, we decided to do something very different and with the prospect of a Coronation in May, what could be more appropriate than ‘A Springtime Celebration’?

The programme has a largely English feel, featuring two of our most popular contemporary composers, John Rutter and Bob Chilcott, plus an Interlude of Percy Grainger songs. Chilcott’s A Little Jazz Mass is unlike anything we’ve sung before and we’re sure that you’ll appreciate the joy of ‘swing’. We’re delighted to be joined by international tenor, Anando Mukerjee, who, since his debut at Belgrade National Opera in 2006, has performed at some of the world’s finest musical venues, including Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Wigmore Hall. There will also be some rousing brass pieces, featuring the wonderful Berkeley Brass Ensemble, an exciting new London-based group, and organ solos from the very talented Adrian Bawtree, Director of Music and Organist at Rochester Cathedral.

There really is, in this concert, something for everyone, young, older and in between. Grab your tickets from Just, Wendover High Street or from wendoverchoral@gmail.com and join us for a roof-lifting celebration on Saturday 29 April.
