Aylesbury and District Ramblers

We are a friendly, informal group formed in1966 with nearly 300 members.

We are very fortunate to have the magnificent Chilterns scenery and the panoramic Vale of Aylesbury on our doorstep and the majority of our walks are in our local Buckinghamshire area though we do extend to Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and occasional walks in London. We provide a programme of walks to suit everyone. Tuesday walks are about 4 miles at no faster than 2 miles per hour average.  Thursday walks tend to be 6 – 9 miles at a somewhat faster pace.  Sunday walks can be up to 14 miles. It is not necessary to be a member to join in a walk – just turn up on the day. If you enjoy the walks and want to continue walking with us you are expected to join the Ramblers’ Association to give us your support.
Many walks include a pub stop. You will need strong boots, shoes or trainers and warm and/or waterproof clothing, depending on the weather. But remember it can be very muddy particularly outside of the summer months and walking-pole(s) can be helpful. You may also want to bring a drink and a snack. (Bananas seem to be a favourite with ramblers!)
