Evening Meetings
Our first meeting of the season is generally the AGM, which is a social function as well as dealing with essential business. From then on meetings generally alternate between talks or demonstrations by established artists or lecturers, and working evenings at which members tackle anything from still life or portraiture to exercises aimed at learning. Meetings start at 7:30pm and are free to members. Visitors are welcome to join us for a small fee.
Workshops
In addition to the evening meetings we also hold occasional one-day workshops throughout the year, usually on a Saturday. Some workshops are tutored by a professional artist, others are run on a self help basis. There is a charge for workshops and attendance is normally limited to fifteen.
Exhibitions
The club holds two exhibitions each year, a Summer exhibition at the end of May and an Autumn exhibition at the end of November. All members are encouraged to exhibit their work (there is no selection process) as the primary purpose is to show the public what the club members do. Of course we always hope to sell a few pictures too.
