Wendover Community Car

About Wendover Community Car

The Wendover Action Group was founded in 1996 to provide help to local residents and visitors to Wendover and the surrounding villages with door to door transport for those people who have difficulty travelling.

We operate the ‘Wendover Community Car’. Many of our passengers can’t easily use public transport. They may have limited mobility, use walking frames or wheelchairs, or even just have problems with heavy bags. We are delighted to help.

We rely on the help of our volunteer drivers and would welcome applications to join our team. Please refer to our ‘Become a Driver’ page on our website www.wendovercommunitycar.org or contact us on 01296 317769.

At the end of 2016 we became one of the beneficiaries of a Department for Transport scheme to provide new vehicles for a number of community transport groups around the country. We are also very grateful to Wendover Parish Council and the Lionel Abel-Smith Trust for the financial help they have given to us over many years. We are delighted to have accepted an offer of sponsorship from a local firm of Solicitors – Stuart Fantham and Co. and we display their logo on the vehicle.
