Established in 1975, Wendover Junior Football Club is a grassroots club providing football related activities to children in Wendover and the surrounding villages. We also have strong links with RAF Halton and the local schools.
The club is affiliated to the Berks and Bucks FA and all of our Coaches are DBS checked with over half having an FA Level 1 qualification. The club is run by unpaid volunteers and all activities are funded through member subscriptions and general fundraising. Training for our youngest players is on a Saturday morning with players moving to midweek training on the astro at RAF Halton from Under 12’s onwards. All of our teams (with the exception of the Under 16’s who play on a Saturday) have their matches on a Sunday morning.

WJFC Cubs
WJFC are delighted to work in partnership with Bucks Sport Academy to bring training for our youngest players at the club.
The WJFC Cubs provides football for boys & girls aged 2.5 to Reception/Foundation stage. This is a fun, friendly learning environment for your child to be introduced to playing football and the partnership with Bucks Sports Academy provides quality coaching from top FA-qualified coaches.
WJFC
The main Club currently runs Age Groups from Under 6’s (School Year 1) through to Under 16’s (School Year 11) and we hope that in the coming seasons we will also have teams at Under 17 and 18.
We are an all inclusive Club welcoming both boys and girls and many of our Age Groups run more than one team, this enables players of all standards to play football at a level that best suits their abilities.
WJFC Girls
September 2020 saw WJFC host their first training session exclusively for girls. The aim? To provide girls with the opportunity to learn and enjoy playing football in a safe and fun environment, no matter what experience, ability or background. Despite restrictions being imposed by COVID, the turnout has remained high and we have enjoyed a hugely successful year with significant progress made across the ages, we even played in a friendly match against Haddenham!
As we head into the 2021 season, we look to build on our progress so far; not least, moving onto the newly installed 3G pitch at the John Colet School. In addition, we hope to be in a position next year, to enter teams into the local leagues, for those girls who wish to play more competitively.
Want to join? Training takes place each Tuesday from 6.15-7.15pm, and is now open to girls of all abilities from school years 3-8 inclusive. Each session involves a warm up, practice drills and the chance to play in short matches. Our objective above all else is for the girls to have fun!

All our age groups across the club are now back in training and playing in matches, in line with all appropriate COVID-19 guidelines and regulations. It’s been fantastic to see our young players getting back to football, in the fresh air with their teammates!
