1st Apollo Scouts at Kop Hill

On 24 & 25 September, a group of Scouts from 1st Wendover Apollo Scouts spent the weekend at the Kop Hill Climb in Princes Risborough racing their home made soap boxes.

Having spent months designing and building the soap boxes with the help of their scout leaders and parents, two groups were ready to race – Team Time Travellers and Apollo Racing. They had an amazing time test-riding and then racing for real, and the Apollo Racing team came away with 1st place for the furthest distance travelled. We are very proud of them all!

We continually face a growing demand of young people wanting to join our troop and are always in need of a bit of additional help. If you feel you could offer a skill or just a bit of time every now and then to help with Scouts, we would love to hear from you. This could include cycling, sailing or canoeing on a lovely summer’s evening or cooking marshmallows on an open fire in the rain in February with everything in between!
