Adult social care in focus in today’s council video update
Adult social care during the coronavirus emergency is the topic of today’s video update (Vlog) from Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett.
Martin is joined by Jon Goodwin, Buckinghamshire Council’s Strategic Lead for Adult Social Care, who explains his team’s ‘Keeping in Touch Service’. This service involves over 30 social care staff from the frontline teams, 40 reassigned staff and 30 volunteers making calls throughout each week to vulnerable adult residents – including some who have no family or social connections.
Talking about the service, Jon said: “Some people benefit from a daily call, and many others have calls throughout the week at other intervals. And it’s clear from the response we’ve had that this is providing a much-needed service and is making a real difference in supporting some of our most vulnerable residents.”

The daily Vlog, supporting the message #ProudofBucks, also provides an opportunity for people to ask questions via social media on how the council is fighting Coronavirus locally, what residents can do to stay safe, and how they can get involved in helping others – using the #askBucksCouncil Twitter hashtag.
Vlogs will also be shared daily on the council’s social media channels.
