Aladdin at the Halton Amateur Theatrical Society
Halton Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) is an established amateur drama group based at RAF Halton. RAF personnel are actively engaged with the local community and strive for social cohesion – that is why there is a strong mix of the RAF and local people involved in delivering an excellent standard of entertainment for the local community of Halton, Aylesbury, Wendover and the surrounding villages. Over the past year HATS has been involved in setting up a Bucks One Act Festival with other local amdram groups and are in talks with Limelight theatre to make that the permanent venue of future one act festivals. This will be confirmed in the New Year and the first drama festival is aimed to be performed in June 2013. Look out for details in the Queens Park Centre advertising literature.
RAF Halton Theatre Club started back in the 1970s and in the 1990s it was renamed HATS and has gone from strength to strength as the walls have filled up with certificates and awards for drama productions.
The next production HATS is doing is a traditional offering of the pantomime, ‘Aladdin’ and the matinee and evening performances are from 17 to the 20 January 2013. Ring 01296 586582 or go to Wendover Clock Tower for tickets. Rehearsals for the pantomime are going well and the audience will be welcomed by a spectacle of all things Chinese upon arrival. HATS is eager to welcome the local community to watch this and all of their productions and hope to see you there, oh yes they are.
