Aylesbury Waterside supports Armed Forces Day – Saturday 24 June
Aylesbury Waterside Theatre continues to demonstrate strong support for Armed Forces Day with discounted and free tickets. The Bucks venue is proud to announce its unwavering commitment to Armed Forces Day, taking place on Saturday, June 24th. With a deep dedication to honouring the Armed Forces personnel, the Waterside is pleased to offer discounted and free tickets as part of its ongoing initiative. In 2022, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre provided over 1,600 tickets at a 25% discounted rate through their highly successful ‘Local Heroes’ initiative. This program has been designed to extend gratitude not only to the Armed Forces personnel but also to teachers, ‘blue light’ card holders, social care workers, and prison officers. By offering this discount, the hope is the invaluable contributions of these essential individuals within our communities is recognised. Furthermore, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre has proudly partnered with Tickets for Troops, an organization dedicated to providing access to cultural and sporting events across the UK. Through this collaboration, nearly 200 free tickets were made available last year to members of the local Armed Forces. This partnership grants serving personnel and their families the opportunity to enjoy enriching experiences. To reiterate its support for Armed Forces Day, the Waterside pledges to provide a minimum of 300 tickets to Armed Forces personnel via Tickets for Troops in 2023. This commitment ensures that those who serve the country have the chance to partake in vibrant entertainment offerings. Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the operators Of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre have an exemplary track record of community support. Since the launch of the ‘Local Heroes’ program in 2021, over 100,000 tickets have been provided at a 25% discount to deserving individuals. Additionally, in 2022 alone, ATG issued 800 free Tickets for Troops, contributing significantly to the organisation’s overall distribution of nearly 2 million tickets to serving personnel. ATG’s CEO, Mark Cornell, brings a personal understanding of sacrifice and dedication to the Armed Forces, having served himself. He shares, “I began the first seven years of my career as a soldier, a part of my life of which I’m incredibly proud. I carry those values of respect, integrity, and service into my current vocation: bringing the best experiences for our audiences.
