The Art of Islam – Schools programme from Bucks County Museum
As part of the Art in Islam Festival funded by the Arts Council and local authority funders from across the county a programme of schools activities have been commissioned using Museum and contracted arts providers.
Work is being done in 6 schools by the Milton Keynes Islamic Arts Heritage and Culture Trust to help secondary school art departments present Islamic design sources in a series of processional banners that will be showcased in the Art in the Park events at Milton Keynes Campbell Park on July 9th. The Al – Khayaal theatre company will be working in another 4 schools to develop theatre skills using Islamic stories.

- Highcrest Academy, High Wycombe
- Chiltern Hills Academy, Chesham
- Waddesdon Church of England School, Waddesdon
- Stantonbury Campus, Milton Keynes
- Sir William Ramsey Academy, High Wycombe
- Chiltern Hills Academy, Chesham
- John Colet School, Wendover
- Long Meadow School, Milton Keynes
- Milton Keynes Academy, Milton Keynes.
The Learning programme at Bucks County Museum includes:
- family drop in workshops at May half term
- 4 weeks of week long summer schools leading to the Arts Award Bronze level qualification
- School workshops throughout the summer term on geometric design, the art of story telling and Islami
