Aston Clinton Braced for Broadband Boost with Build Underway

Work currently taking place in Aston Clinton to connect more than 4,000 homes and businesses to ultrafast broadband is set to be a ’game-changer’ for residents living in the historic village – according to the UK’s leading rural, ultrafast broadband provider, Gigaclear.

Gigaclear is expanding its commercial build, taking its full-fibre network to underserved market towns and communities in Buckinghamshire.

Ben Woods, Central General Manager at Gigaclear, comments: “Work has started and where possible we are utilising existing Openreach ducts and poles in order to minimise disruption during the build phase. We hope to have the first customers from the village on our network by spring, 2023 with all 4,500 homes connected by this time next year.

“This is going to be a game-changer for households and residents in Aston Clinton. Having access to reliable and fast broadband speeds is no longer a luxury but is necessary in order for many people to live their lives fully, whether it’s working from home, streaming or accessing other online entertainment.”

Gigaclear’s full-fibre upgrade is bringing speeds of up to 900Mbps, which would enable homeowners to download a film in its entirety in just four seconds.

Gigaclear has frozen its full-fibre broadband rates for 18 months, meaning both new and existing customers will not see a rise in prices until October 2023 at the earliest.
