Aston Wine Club – Join the Club!
The Aston Wine Club has grown from a few friends getting together to enjoy and learn about wine to a Club of over 70 Members. We meet monthly at Buckland Village Hall to socialize, sip and enjoy finding out about wines from all over the world.
We now employ professional presenters – generally either in the wine trade or professionally qualified – but the emphasis is still on enjoyment. Wine bores are banned!
The evening begins with a welcome glass of wine and moves onto the tasting starting with four white wines, possibly with a glass of something sparkling. We take a break for a light supper of cheese & biscuits accompanied by another glass of wine and then on with tasting four red wines.
The joy of being a member is that there is the opportunity to taste wines from different regions which might not normally be on the radar such as Lebanon and Brazil. We recently had a tasting of British winemakers abroad featuring Brits now making fantastic wines in far flung places.
Having at last been released from Covid restrictions, we’ve enjoyed tastings of Rhone, Sicilian, Portuguese, South African wines, not to mention local wines from a vineyard in Watlington. All our tastings are fun, lively interactive affairs, and we’re looking forward to the following tastings:
21 October Grand St Emilion tasting
18 November Favourite French wines of Guy Boursot
9 December Christmas gala evening with a scrumptious supper and a tasting of Brazilian wines
If you are interested in coming along to a tasting, then please contact us on info@astonwineclub.co.uk and we will be delighted to welcome you.
