Aylesbury Mayor completes RAF Challenge

The Mayor of Aylesbury, Alison Harrison, who gives up office this month was recently dared by local radio station Mix 96 presenters, Darren and Katy, to complete a number of challenges around the Vale of Aylesbury. One of them brought her to RAF Halton where, under the supervision of Station personnel, she took part in a session on the high ropes.

Darren said: “So far we’ve challenged Alison to take over the tannoy at Tesco and read the travel news on the radio station, but for challenge number three we really wanted to put her through her paces. We teamed up with the very accommodating folks at RAF Halton who were more than happy to help us push the boundaries of the Mayor’s comfort zone!

Having struggled with applying the respirator in the time needed to survive a chemical threat, we took Alison on to the next part of her challenge… The high ropes!

Our thanks not only to Alison for being so brave but also to the folks at RAF Halton for giving up their time to help us with this challenge.”

Alison said: “I can’t think I have ever done something so exciting that would take me so far out of my comfort zone. It’s definitely been the most frightening and difficult experience, so thank you to Group Captain Burns and his staff for letting me come here. I think it’s something every Aylesbury Town Mayor should do.”
