Aylesbury MP congratulates pupils on exam results
Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has congratulated pupils on their examination results following the publication of GCSE grades today and A Level and BTEC results on Tuesday.
This year, due to the impact of the COVID-19, students have been awarded grades determined by their teachers. Recognising the variability in learning that some young people have experienced, the Government granted teachers the flexibility to draw from a range of evidence to support their judgements and only assess students on what they had been taught.
Rob Butler MP said:
“I’d like to congratulate students across the Aylesbury constituency on their results. It has been an extremely challenging year for young people, with much schooling missed due to the pandemic, and these grades are testament to their hard work and resilience. Students should rightly feel proud of their achievements.
“I would also like to thank our teachers, who have gone above and beyond to help their pupils to achieve their goals, whether that be University, Sixth Form, an apprenticeship, further technical education or their first step on the career ladder.
“The tremendous success of the vaccine rollout means we can look forward to a more normal school year starting in September, and then a gradual return to exams in the future.”
