Aylesbury MP Rob Butler encourages pensioners to check their entitlement to Pension Credit

Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has urged residents to check their entitlement to Pension Credit this winter. Mr Butler spoke with the Pensions Minister, Paul Maynard MP at an event in Parliament to find out more about the ways Pension Credit can provide support.

This includes:

  • Additional cost of living payments
  • Help with heating costs
  • Assistance with dental treatment, glasses and transport to hospital appointments
  • Help with council tax

Rob Butler MP said:

“Pension Credit tops up income and helps with day-to-day living costs, but many people don’t realise they’re eligible for it. It can make a big difference to pensioners, and I want to make sure everyone in Aylesbury knows how to claim.”

Pensioners may be eligible if their weekly income is less than £201.05 if single, or £306.85 if they have a partner.  To find out more, go to http://gov.uk/pension-credit.
