Aylesbury MP welcomes £9m investment in Bucks Healthcare

Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has welcomed the announcement of more than £9 million investment from the Department for Health and Social Care for Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust to improve hospital infrastructure.

It’s part of a commitment to end the critical maintenance backlog in the NHS that will total some £600m investment and cover 1800 improvement projects across 178 hospital trusts.
Reacting to the announcement, Rob said:
“I am delighted that Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust will receive millions of pounds of additional money to upgrade our local hospitals and ensure that vital maintenance projects can take place.

“This funding shows the Government’s commitment to the NHS in Bucks, and I would like to thank Neil Macdonald, the Chief Executive and all his team for the fantastic work they are doing to keep all of us in the Aylesbury constituency safe and well during the current coronavirus pandemic.”

The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock MP said:
“Alongside delivering on our manifesto commitment to build 40 new hospitals and 20 major hospital upgrades across the country, this investment will help our NHS build back better.

“These crucial maintenance projects will deliver immediate benefits and provide NHS staff with the facilities they need to provide world-class care to their patients this winter, helping ensure the NHS is always there for you when you need it.”
