Aylesbury MP welcomes new funding for local schools
Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has welcomed the Department for Education’s announcement that five local schools will receive money from the Condition Improvement Fund.
The fund is highly competitive and is designed to improve buildings and school estates for pupils and staff. In this round of funding, a total of £483 million has been allocated to 1,466 projects at 1,199 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools across the country.
Rob said:
“I am delighted that five schools in the Aylesbury constituency have been awarded funding for specific projects to improve conditions in their schools. Money for Aylesbury Grammar, Aylesbury High School and the John Colet school will help fix roofs. Bearbrook Combined and Bedgrove Junior schools will receive funding for safeguarding projects and the replacement of fire alarms.
“The Education Department receives thousands of applications every year, and it is excellent news that local schools have been granted support during this funding round for urgent repairs and replacements.”
