Aylesbury MP welcomes Prime Minister’s speech

Aylesbury MP Rob Butler says the Prime Minister has delivered a message of optimism to inspire the country at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

Rob said:

“It was an excellent speech by the Prime Minister – clearly showing how the Government is getting on with the job at hand –  whether that’s seizing the opportunities of Brexit, investing in the NHS, or improving social care. The PM set out the vision of a high wage, high skill economy: that’s good news for Aylesbury and our local area because it means better jobs in Bucks, it means a vibrant town centre and it means even stronger public services. It was an emphatic message of how we’re delivering on the people’s priorities as we build back better.”

Rob has been at the Conference since Sunday, meeting a wide variety of organisations with links to our local area, including many health and social care charities.

Rob also spoke at an event organised by Conservative Friends of Pakistan, highlighting the contribution of Aylesbury’s Pakistani community during the pandemic, including making food parcels for NHS staff and helping with vaccines.

Rob added:

“Conservative Party conference is a great way of hearing and discussing policy ideas that have an impact on our everyday lives. It was great to have the opportunity to meet so many people who share my determination to make Aylesbury an even better place to live, work, visit and invest.”
