Barratt and David Wilson Homes Site Managers recognised as Best in Country
Alongside the good news that Barratt and David Wilson Homes is back building and selling homes in Buckinghamshire, three Site Managers have recently won top national awards for quality from the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Sam Foglia (37), Jason Hart (32), and Roy Kelly (59) have won a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality award, considered to be the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”.
Originally from Leicester and now living in Milton Keynes, Sam has won his second Pride in the Job Award for his work at Woburn Downs He said: “It was really important to me that we built an environment where everyone would be able to come to work and flourish. We are building a real team atmosphere and all the trades want to be a part of it. I really do love everything about the site.
“I can’t wait to see how the site develops into a real community over the next few years. Starting a new large development and to win a pride in the job the first year is a massive achievement for the site. I’m absolutely delighted.”
Having won his first award for his work on Fairfields DWH, Jason has now worked for Barratt and David Wilson Homes for almost seven years, having gone through Barratt Developments’ 5 year Residential Development Construction Management degree programme. He said: “it’s an amazing achievement for the whole site team and a testament to the hard work, consistency and dedication from all involved at Fairfields DWH. I am very proud of this site, the team and the subcontractors who work with me. I am very lucky to have such an understanding wife and I’m also hugely grateful to Barratt Northampton who fully supported me throughout the last 7 years.”
Roy Kelly, Site Manager for Fairfields, was awarded his eighth Pride in the Job Award. He said: “I’m so pleased to have been given a Pride in the Job Quality Award, it’s an honour. My team at Fairfields is fantastic and they’ve all done such a brilliant job that I think they should all take credit for this award too.
“Fairfields is a brilliant site and it’s been a pleasure to work at so far and I’m sure it will continue to be. The thing I love the most about my job getting to see the finished product of a development and seeing happy customers moving into their new homes.”
Now in their 40th year the Pride in the Job Quality awards recognise the very best Site Managers from around the country. In total, parent company Barratt Developments’ Site Managers won 92 Pride in the Job Quality awards this year, more than every other housebuilder. Barratt has now won more Pride in the Jobs Quality awards for 16 years in a row, a record unmatched in the industry which shows its commitment to building homes of the highest quality.
Each Site Manager is judged on a range of key criteria including health and safety, their technical knowledge, customer service and attention to detail. Pride in the Job is the most highly regarded competition in the housebuilding industry with just 450 individual winners being chosen from over 11,000 entrants.
Chanda Chileshe, Senior Sales Manager at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “Now that we are back building and selling homes again, it is great to see that our Site Managers are rated as amongst the very best in the country for the high quality of the homes they deliver. It is now more important than ever that customers have confidence in the homes they are buying, and the mark of a Pride in the Job Quality award shows that their home has been built to the highest of standards. We are very proud to have won more of these quality awards than any other housebuilder for 16 years in a row.”
