Barratt Homes Site Manager Recognised for Construction Excellence in Milton Keynes
A Site Manager working for local homebuilder Barratt Homes Northampton in Milton Keynes achieved a prestigious award in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in the country.
Roy Kelly, 57, has gained official recognition for the excellence in which he manages the new homes development, called Fairfields, by receiving a Pride in the Job Quality Award. The awards are dedicated to recognising Site Managers who achieve the highest standard in housebuilding.
Since joining the division in 2010, Roy has been given six Quality Awards, five Seal of Excellence Awards and three Regional Awards from the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Senior Site Manager Roy said, “I’m so pleased to have been given a Pride in the Job Quality Award, it’s an honour. My team at Fairfields is fantastic and they’ve all done such a fantastic job that I think they should all take credit for this award too.
“Fairfields is a brilliant site and it’s been a pleasure to work at so far and I’m sure it will continue to be. The thing I love the most about my job getting to see the finished product of a development and seeing happy customers moving into their new homes.”
Roy is one of two Site Managers within the division, which is based in Northampton, to win a Quality award.
Site managers are judged by their site safety, technical skills, workmanship and customer service. Every year site managers will face a site spot check from the NHBC, with over 16,000 site managers being assessed and only around 450 winning a quality award each year, they are a much coveted sign of excellence within the industry.
