Basil Backs Waterside Whittington Walk – Boom Boom!
Training for Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s biggest fundraiser to date, the Waterside Whittington Walk is well underway, and furry fox favourite, Basil Brush is backing the team all the way!
Staff are taking part in weekly training walks as they countdown to the 52 mile challenge.
So far the training routes have included 17 mile canal path stretches, 16 miles of hill-training around Ashridge Estate and several attempts to familiarise with the first 15mile leg of the route to be taken on the day itself (Sat 8 Aug), from Aylesbury via Wendover to Chesham.
The epic event in aid of Florrie’s Children’s Charity will help raise vital funds for the specialist care team of nurses that provide home-based care to sick children from birth to 19 years of age.
FNHC Executive Director, Sue Jenkins said: ‘We are absolutely delighted the team from Waterside Theatre are embarking on this mammoth challenge in support of Florrie’s Children’s Team. The money raised is going to be make a vital difference in helping to support sick children battling life-limiting illness in the familiarity of their own home. We wish everyone involved in the Whittington Walk, the very best of luck.”
