Our Chilterns Newsletter is due to appear early in the month. Please email me if you’d like to receive it.
On Sun 4 Sep at 10am, Mick Jones will lead a group to see the changes taking place on the Dancersend Reserve Extension, where arable land is being reverted to chalk grassland – our own local rewilding scheme. For this and all events except the talk, please get more details and book at bbowt.org.uk/events. Wed 7 sees the launch of our community network scheme with an online meet-up at 7pm, while on Sat 10, College Lake will host a Young Rangers session at 1.30pm for 12 to 16s. Nature Tots sessions for preschool children will take place on Tue 13 and Thu 15 at 10.15am.
At Great Missenden Memorial Centre on Tue 20 we start a new season of talks with Chantal Helm showcasing ‘The Elusive Barbastelle Bat’, doors open 7pm, talk 7.45pm, admission £5 inc. refreshments.
Looking ahead to October, our autumn Plant and Produce Market will be on Sun 9 Oct at College Lake so please get plants ready labelled and plan for some baking or jam making.
