Enjoy ‘messing about in boats’ at Beale Park

Wooden boatbuilding will be at the core of this year’s Beale Park Boat & Outdoor Show from Friday to Sunday, June 3-5, 2016

The event, which is open each day from 10am-6pm (and until 5pm on Sunday) kick starts the boating season in some style.

Beale Park Boat & Outdoor Show is a celebration of the boatbuilder’s craft keeping alive the centuries old skills of building from natural materials – boats that are beautiful to look and amazing to travel on. You will see clinker built craft (made from overlapping planks cut from fine hardwoods shaped by steam) that have been with us since the Vikings landed in Britain on iconic wooden boats a thousand years ago.

You will be able to ride boats of all shapes & sizes to your heart’s content. Enjoy boats powered by steam, electric, sail, engines, paddle – and even pedal!

This show is geared towards the boat enthusiast & boat buyers but the organisers also understand the importance of involving families, so the next generation can be inspired.

The family area will therefore integrate with the show’s core boat values and will be educational, fun and on message: here you can learn about navigation and maritime history and understand the simple pleasures of boating.
