Black IPA & White IPA
The Chiltern Brewery have launched TWO brand new limited edition bottle-conditioned ales. Inspired by this fast growing on-trend beer style, the 330ml bottles of White and Black IPA are available online now and in the brewery shop as single bottles, special 3 packs or 12 bottle cases.
Both ales have been aged 18 months and have been bottle-conditioned at the brewery. The beers are unfiltered and unpasteurized to create fine examples of this hoppy ale style. IPA beers typically have a high hop content that originally helped preserve them for the long journey from England to India.
White IPA 7.5% is a golden caramel colour marrying full bodied Maris Otter and wheat malts with East Kent Goldings and Fuggles hops for a beautifully balanced rich brew with a commanding hop aroma. It is suggested served from a stemmed glass and is sensational paired with seafood, pizzas and spicy curries.
Black IPA 7.8% is a dark ruby smooth roasted black IPA that brings together all the best of stouts and IPAs in harmony and is blessed with refined treacle and liquorice notes. It too has a sumptuous, hoppy aroma and pairs with red meats and strong cheeses. See www.chilternbrewery.co.uk
From its inception and inaugural brew in 1980, the ethos at The Chiltern Brewery has been to brew natural, wholesome fine English ales using 100% British ingredients – the best Class A malt and hops with great provenance – and to mirror age old brewing methods. Now a second generation family business with 37 years experience and many awards to its name, it is the oldest independent brewery in Buckinghamshire and the Chiltern Hills.
