Bletchley Park Named Best Attraction for Groups

Bletchley Park has been named Best Attraction for Groups in the 2015 UK Group Travel Awards. It beat off stiff competition from prestigious fellow nominees including the London Eye, the Eden Project in Cornwall and Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

The winners were announced on Friday in a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane. The annual event recognises the very best suppliers within the group travel industry. Sarah Jeffery, Partnership & Product Director at Landor Travel Publications and Organiser of The Group Travel Awards, said “The Group Travel Awards are the longest established event celebrating excellence in the supply of services to group travel organisers. The winners are voted for by the readers of GTO magazine through personal experience over the last 12 months and Bletchley Park are to be congratulated on winning the Best Attraction for Group Visits category.”

So far this year, more than 1,100 group travel organisers have booked a great day out at Bletchley Park. Once Britain’s best kept secret, Bletchley Park is a combination of indoor and outdoor space, where history lives in the very walls of huts and blocks built in the 1940s for the 9,000 or so men and women who broke codes and ciphers, generating war winning intelligence, amid complete secrecy. Bletchley Park encourages visitors to roam the site at their leisure and use the free maps provided. Free Multimedia Guides help visitors to discover its fascinating stories in the places where they happened. Pre-booked groups of 12 or more can book with the Group Bookings team. All group visitors now get an annual season ticket to return again and again with other friends and family within the next twelve months.

Kelsey Griffin, Bletchley Park’s Director of Marketing and Communication, said “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award which is a huge accolade for the fantastic visitor experience we provide and made still more significant by the renown and quality of the other attractions nominated.”

The other finalists were Black Country Living Museum, Dudley, Houses of Parliament, Eden Project, Cornwall, The London Bridge Experience and The View from the Shard, London.
