A brand-new nursery is under development in Wendover, Aylesbury, due to open in spring 2021.

The purpose-built Wendover Day Nursery will be welcoming children aged 12 weeks to five years from early next year and is located opposite Dobbies Garden Centre off the A413, providing easy access for parents commuting from the area.

The £3 million development is under construction on the site of former public house the World’s End, making positive use of what has been a derelict site since 2004 and generating 35 jobs for the area.

With space for up to 95 children, the Nursery will be providing high quality childcare within inspiring and stimulating environments, with a focus on learning through hands on experiences.

The site has been hand-picked due to it overlooking extensive open farmland, offering children plenty of outdoor space and natural resources to explore safely.

The indoor facilities will boast a contemporary design with large windows and free flow access to the outdoors as well as light, modern rooms including a dedicated sensory room for the youngest children alongside a bespoke art and drama studio space.

Children attending the Nursery can also expect fresh, home cooked meals made on site each day, using locally sourced ingredients.

Wendover Day Nursery is part of the independent CC Nurseries group, which already provides inspirational Early Childhood Learning and Care for over 500 families in settings across England and Scotland.

Andrew Clifford, COO of CC Nurseries, said:

‘‘We’re delighted to be bringing this brand-new, modern day Nursery to Wendover. Our ethos has always been to provide the children who attend our nurseries with natural resources and the freedom to enjoy the outdoors where possible, so to have such a large green space on our doorstep is fantastic and we can’t wait for the children to be able to take advantage of that.

‘‘We also want to make it as convenient as possible for parents to fit in drop offs and pick ups around their busy working lives, so we hope being so close to an essential transport link will be a stress reliever for prospective parents.

‘‘We are very much looking forward to opening our doors to local families.’’
