Bridleway on Bacombe Hill

A message from The Ridgeway National Trail:

The bridleway on Bacombe Hill is temporarily closed from the bottom of the hill off Ellesborough Road and up the hill to where the bridleway meets a footpath linking to Bacombe Lane. This is to allow surface works to be carried out for the next two weeks or so. The bridleway is closed during the works because the unfinished surface is not safe for the public to use. The surface will also settle better and so last longer if people keep off it until the bridleway is ready to be opened up again. A map of alternative routes whilst the bridleway is closed is attached for reference.

Finishing touches are needed to the footpath but it is open for use. Several passers-by have commented on how the new footpath surface is a real improvement.
