Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett reacts to Prime Minister’s County Deals announcement

“Bucks is ready and waiting for an ambitious County Deal”; that was the response by Council Leader, Martin Tett, to the Prime Minister’s announcement today that ‘County Deals’ would form part of the national ‘levelling up’ agenda.

“Bucks has already been leading the way in working with Government to develop thinking along these lines. It is clear that national recovery and growth needs all parts of our country to be successful.

Buckinghamshire, as a unitary council, with the same geography as our Local Enterprise Partnership, our main business organisation, our local NHS and our key skills providers is brilliantly placed to pioneer a County Deal, bringing together the ambitions of different government departments to deliver here in Bucks. We also stand ready to work with others to ensure that all parts of the UK succeed from this approach.”
