Buckinghamshire residents prepare for spring with the living room a priority to decorate

A new survey among Buckinghamshire residents has revealed that the space in their home property seekers would decorate first after moving in is the living room.
After a year of quality time spent with immediate family in the same home, there is greater emphasis on making shared spaces the ideal setting to relax and unwind in now that spring is just around the corner.
With the warmer months ahead, it is the ideal time to look forward to new beginnings and move to a blank canvas home with the chance to decorate however buyers would like.
A survey conducted by five star developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes* has revealed that 50% of people in the county would prioritise the living room over any other space in the home to personalise first after moving in.
As the UK’s largest housebuilder, Barratt and David Wilson Homes provide high-quality homes with flexible living spaces to come together as a family and reduce stress with relaxation. The property’s living areas offer a slice of tranquillity to those who lead busy lifestyles or are seeking to live at a slower pace.
Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “It’s no surprise to see the living room is the priority room to decorate among Buckinghamshire residents as being able to relax together as a couple or a family is crucial to ensure a comfortable household.
“With people spending a lot more time with those they live with since the beginning of the pandemic than with anyone else, we’re able to meet future residents’ needs through a range of stellar living spaces with the opportunity to personalise to individual needs.
“For prospective buyers who’d like to see the space they’d spend the majority of their time in the home in, we’d encourage anyone interested to book an appointment with one of our Sales Advisers who can introduce them to their future new living room.”
