Buckinghamshire residents reveal the virtual viewing is a key influencer for house hunting

A new survey among Buckinghamshire residents has revealed that access to digital tools is now a major influencer in their decision to purchase a home.

The ability to virtually view a new home was present long before the pandemic but, in light of the latest lockdown measures, the availability of digital assets before booking an appointment to physically view a new home is of utmost importance.

A survey conducted by five star developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes* has revealed that 38% of people in the county are now more likely to purchase a home where they can view the property digitally.

As the UK’s largest housebuilder, Barratt and David Wilson Homes supported the housing market by investing in more digital tools to meet the demand for new homes, whether that’s through 360-degree tours, development videos or even show home tours with an onsite Sales Adviser.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “It’s no surprise to see the demand for digital tools has increased rapidly among Buckinghamshire residents as being able to view a property before visiting a development is a great benefit.

“Having invested greatly in the new ways of homebuying since the beginning of the pandemic, we’re able to meet our prospective purchasers’ needs through a range of useful tools which allow them to view our new homes without leaving their own.

“There’s still nothing like seeing the properties in person so after watching a development video or taking a virtual tour of a home, we’d encourage anyone interested to book an appointment with one of our Sales Advisers to learn how to take the next step.”

Barratt Homes is currently building properties in Buckinghamshire at Brooklands and Eagles’ Rest in Milton Keynes, Woburn Downs in Bletchley and Fairfields in Stony Stratford.

David Wilson Homes is also currently building properties in Buckinghamshire at Brooklands, Fairfields, Eagles’ Rest and Woburn Downs, as well as at Lavendon Fields in Lavendon and Brooklands Park in Milton Keynes.

Digital tools are available on the websites of all developments, such as the online tour of the Cambridge style home at Brooklands, which offers the chance to step inside the property as if you were there. This tool can be found here: https://youtu.be/ZTRONnkDwS0.
