In total apparently, in Britain, we fired up the ‘barbie’ 115.3 million times in 2016, an increase of 8.4% over the previous year. Our habits are changing though – weekdays are becoming more popular, weekends less so and the peak barbecue time now falls later – in August.

What we eat has changed too. Beefburgers have overtaken sausages as the nation’s favourite barbecue meat. We are certainly experiencing ‘barbecue fever’ here and are delighted that our burgers are proving such a popular choice. We have been experimenting with new sausage flavours too, with our new pork and apple range having been very well received.

Remember you don’t have to plan – you can be ‘barbecue spontaneous’. We’re open until 6pm Wednesday to Friday and 4pm at weekends, so you can stock up on our delicious home reared meats – and other barbecue treats too – at the last minute.
