Budgens is Best
Dary Sweeney, who owns Sweeney’s Budgens store in Wendover High Street, is thanking his customers who helped him win the title ‘Budgens Best Medium Sized Store’ at a prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 20 March.
Sweeney’s Budgens of Wendover, which recently reopened after an extensive refit, was chosen as the winner of this award from all the independent retailers who partner with Budgens. A major influence to Dary’s success is the store’s largely extended fresh aisle, offering a greater range of fruit and vegetables, and a varied selection of ready-meals and British meat.
During the refit, Dary introduced a number of services for the local community including ‘My Hermes’ parcel collection, a home-delivered newspaper service and an external ATM machine. The transformation was completed with additional parking spaces and cycle racks.
Dary comments, “I think that this award is a direct result of everybody’s hard work and enthusiasm. I know it would not have been possible without the support from all the team and the local community – especially our loyal customers.”
The independent judge of the awards, Scott Annan commented, “The Budgens of Wendover store provides an amazing service for the local customers and has some of the kindest staff that I have ever met at any Budgens store. They are really setting an impressive example of high quality customer service against other big brands.”
