Care for adults focus in the daily council video update

The transformation of Stoke Mandeville’s Olympic Lodge into a 240-bed social care and reablement centre for adults during the coronavirus emergency is highlighted in today’s (Tuesday) daily video update (Vlog) from Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett.

Joining Martin is Gillian Quinton, the council’s Corporate Director for Adults, Health and Housing, who will talk about how the council will use the centre to care for hospital patients who no longer need acute care but are not quite ready to go home, and people living at home who, temporarily, are unable to remain there because they have no support.

The transformation of the Olympic Lodge, at the heart of the birthplace of the Paralympics, took just three weeks.

The daily Vlog, supporting the message #ProudofBucks, also provides an opportunity for people to ask questions via social media on how the council is fighting Coronavirus locally, what residents can do to stay safe, and how they can get involved in helping others – using the #askBucksCouncil Twitter hashtag.

Vlogs will also be shared daily on the council’s social media channels.
