Carers Week UK

Carers Week is a UK wide annual campaign to raise awareness of caring to highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. This year the focus of Carers Week is around building ‘Carer Friendly Communities’ – communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with needs of their own.

Individuals and organisations around the UK will come together to organise activities and events throughout the country, drawing attention to just how important caring is.

Carers Bucks is organising a number of events throughout the County including an Open House for carers on Friday 12th June at its offices in Aylesbury, when carers will be able to receive a pampering treatment and health check. An afternoon tea for carers is also taking place at Missenden Abbey in Great Missenden on Tuesday 9th June.

Carers Bucks runs a regular support group in Wendover every second Thursday of the month from 1pm – 3pm at Wendover Library, High Street, Wendover, HP22 6DU – all carers are welcome to attend.
