Staff and members at the Chilterns MS Centre bid farewell to outgoing Chair, Catherine Golds, at the charity’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday 14 May, as she stepped down after eight years on the Board of Trustees.

Catherine became a Trustee at the Wendover-based charity in 2014 and was then appointed Vice Chair in February 2019 before becoming Chair in 2020, not long before the first lockdown began. It has been difficult for charities and many other organisations during this time but Catherine leaves the Centre in a very stable position.

“It has not been without its challenges but I have really enjoyed my time as Chair of Trustees,” said Catherine. “The Centre does fantastic work supporting people with MS and now Parkinson’s and I am proud to have played a role in that.”

The charity is yet to appoint a new Chair but the role is being covered in the interim by the Treasurer, Henry Snow, supported by Vice Chair, Liz Tubb.

“I would like to thank Catherine personally and on behalf of members for the way she led our charity through difficult times,” said Henry Snow, Interim Chair at the Centre. “Her hard work and strategic direction means that not only are we in a stable position, we are now entering an exciting new era as we begin to support people with conditions other than MS.”

Although stepping down as a Trustee, Catherine will still remain involved with the Centre but can now get to devote more time to her other passions including silversmithing and gardening.
