Celebrate St George’s Day with the Morris Men!
The Whitchurch Morris Men – St George’s Day Free Barn Dance
This year, St George’s Day (23rd April) falls on a Saturday and to celebrate, all of the local Morris sides are dancing out and finally congregate in Friars Square, Aylesbury at 4 p.m. At the end of the Day, everyone is invited to a FREE BARN DANCE at Wilstone village hall. It’s an opportunity for everyone to come along and have a go at English Folk Dancing. You’ll have to buy your own food and refreshments when you’re there but the hall and music come gratis.
The Whitchurch Men’s programme looks like this:-
11 o’clock; The Angler’s Retreat in Marsworth
12 o’clock; The Half Moon in Wilstone
1 o’clock; Jansel Square and the Bucks Yeoman in Bedgrove
4 o’clock; Friars Square, Aylesbury – massed dance display
7 – 11 o’clock; Wilstone Village Hall – Free Barn Dance
The other local sides:- Towersey MM, Aldbury MM, Three Horseshoes Morris Dancers and New Moon Morris will tour the Vale for the day and will join us in Friars Square.

The food is anticipated to be a Fish and Chip van on site and the refreshments will come from Tring Brewery.
