Celebrating achievement at Aylesbury College
Aylesbury College has recently held its annual Celebrating Student Achievement Awards at a ceremony at the College.
Nominated students and their guests heard an inspiring speech from Shakira Martin, Vice President of Further Education for the National Union of Students. Shakira spoke about the challenges she had faced in her life and the positive impact of further education for young people.
There were 15 awards presented, including best student in each curriculum area. The College Community Award was won by Naomi Whale who left her home in Dorset to come and study in Aylesbury where she supports herself, volunteers as a Scout leader and still manages to excel with her coursework.
The College’s Overall Student of the Year award was presented to Emma Hope, a Level 3 Public Services student. Emma has consistently produced fantastic work and has been the first to volunteer and represent the college to the highest standard at external events. Emma is leaving Aylesbury College after three happy years and is going on to University in September to study Criminology and Criminal Justice System.
Congratulations to all of the award winners.
