Chairman hosts reception to say thank you

County Council Chairman, Netta Glover hosted a special reception last week to say thank you to the individuals, organisations and businesses who have supported her during her year in office.
Dignitaries and special guests from across Buckinghamshire gathered at Horwood House on 28 April to attend the Chairman’s Annual Reception. Those attending included, Mr Alexander Boswell, HM Vice Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and his wife Jane, Mrs Julia Upton MBE, the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Lady Aubrey-Fletcher and The Earl & Countess Howe.
During her 12 months as Chairman, Netta has attended a multitude of events and visited a variety of different locations and organisations across the county in her role as the ceremonial representative of the council.
Netta also chose to support two local charities during her year in office, the Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA), and SSAFA Buckinghamshire. Throughout the year Netta has helped fundraise for both charities and at the reception was able to present the two organisations with cheques for the money raised.
Netta presented a cheque for £8,566.08 to TVAA and a cheque for £7,519.19 to SSAFA Buckinghamshire.
Speaking afterwards Netta said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chairman of the County Council. It has been a true honour to travel the length and breadth of the county and beyond to meet so many interesting and inspirational people. Thank you to everyone who has invited me to meet with them this year, I have enjoyed every minute!
“I would also like to thank everyone for their generous donations to our two local charities for this year. It gives me immense pleasure to be able to show our support in this way to both SSAFA and TVAA. Both charities do such wonderful work in our local communities.”
