Chalfont Leisure Centre’s new pool opens on 18 October

The new swimming pool at Chalfont Leisure Centre is nearing completion and will be open to customers on Monday 18 October.
Councillor Clive Harriss, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure at Buckinghamshire Council said: “Last year during the refurbishment programme, we discovered issues with the pool structure and so it was agreed to replace the entire pool. I’m delighted to say that we now have a lovely new pool and we are really looking forward to welcoming swimmers back.
“I want to say a huge thank you to our customers for their patience while the works have been carried out as we know the pool is a major attraction at the centre. I feel we must recognise the unsung heroes the Council’s officers and the contractors that made this happen within tight timescales while ensuring the overall improvements were also carried out to provide the great environment we now have within the facility in which to exercise.
“Anyone who hasn’t visited the centre since the pool closed won’t have seen the fantastic refurbishments the centre underwent last year as part of the council’s commitment to invest in its leisure facilities to support healthy lifestyles and improve residents’ health and well-being.
“The centre now benefits from a bigger and better gym, kitted out with industry leading, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a group cycling studio with curved wall-to-wall immersive screens and larger dedicated group exercise studios. There has also been a range of aesthetic enhancements to offer an all-round improved fitness experience. The centre really does look superb, so come along and see for yourself.”
Commenting on the new and improved facilities, Steve Salwa, Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re thrilled Chalfont Leisure Centre will soon be fully open. We know the pool has been sorely missed but will soon be ready for casual swimmers, keen swimmers and swimming lessons, alike.
“Please book your swimming sessions in advance to secure your slot – you can do this on our website, where you’ll also find other useful guidance about our Covid-safe measures.”
Everyone Active is still operating safety measures throughout its centres and encouraging guests to read through the guidance on its website in advance of their visit, so everyone can continue to play their part to keep each other safe.
