Chesham Bois To Start New Year with Broadband Boost

Homeowners in Chesham Bois will begin to have access to ‘game-changing’, ultrafast broadband in the New Year, part of a planned £38m commercial investment in Buckinghamshire by leading rural broadband provider Gigaclear.

Engineers are expected to ‘light’ Gigaclear’s cabinet in the village next month (January), connecting the first 200 homes to the telecom company’s extensive full fibre network.

In total, around 2,250 homes and businesses in Chesham Bois will have the opportunity to benefit from fast and reliable broadband speeds by the time work is completed at the end of next year.

Central Delivery Director Ben Woods said: “Chesham Bois is just one of many under-served market towns and communities in the county that are set to benefit from our full fibre broadband roll-out.

“Reliable and fast broadband speeds are no longer luxuries but are necessary in order for many people to live their lives fully, whether it’s working from home, streaming or accessing other online entertainment. It is going to be a game-changer for households and residents in Chesham Bois.”

Gigaclear’s full-fibre upgrade is bringing speeds of up to 900Mbps, which would enable homeowners to download a film in its entirety in just four seconds.

Gigaclear has frozen its full-fibre broadband rates for 18 months, meaning both new and existing customers will not see a rise in prices until October 2023 at the earliest.
