Christmas comes early for Aylesbury residents as Santa visits local development
Residents at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury have had a special visit from Father Christmas who has been spreading festive cheer throughout the town whilst raising money for important causes.
The Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary Club’s annual Santa float has become somewhat of a tradition. Jolly old St. Nick visits local neighbourhoods in the weeks leading up to Christmas along with a team of volunteers who collect money for local causes.
The Santa float passed through Kingsbrook last week and local residents braved the cold to meet Santa who was greeting everyone from atop the float. This year, the float could even be tracked online to make sure that no one missed out.
Roger Kings, Honorary Treasurer for Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary Club, said: “The first week of our Santa float has gone extremely well and we have beaten last year’s collection totals. We would like to thank the residents of Kingsbrook for their generosity and also Barratt and David Wilson Homes for their generous donation of £200 towards the charities that we are supporting.”
Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary Club and volunteers were raising money for Lymphoma Action, PACE, Wheelpower, Florence Nightingale Hospice, MASKS (Make A Special Kid Smile) and Aylesbury Youth Action.
Aylesbury Hundreds is a well-established club of local people who want to contribute to their local community and to aid those less fortunate than themselves by raising money for charities. Their approach to everything they do is friendly and relaxed but with a purpose, everything is voluntary and nothing is mandatory. All members are dedicated to help others and like to have fun whilst doing it.
Simon Francis, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Thames, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Aylesbury Hundreds Rotary Club for including Kingsbrook on their route. It was great to see the local community come together for such an excellent cause.”
Barratt Homes currently has two bedroom homes from £210,000 and David Wilson Homes has a range of three and four bedroom homes available starting from £336,495.
