Christmas comes early for the Firecrest as it celebrates its new look
The Firecrest, part of the Vintage Inns collection, recently reopened its doors following a major refurbishment, bringing a beautiful new look to this Wendover local.
The pub, located on London Road, oozes rural charm and rustic character with the picturesque surroundings providing the perfect backdrop for savouring its new menu, which it hopes will excite guests and encourage them to while away many hours in their cosy surroundings.
Visitors to the Firecrest can enjoy the pub throughout the year, from roaring fires in winter to its new outside dining area to while away the long summer nights. They can also sample the amazing selection of gins, ales and wines on offer behind the bar and try out some of the freshly prepared British dishes from the new menu, and the Firecrest hopes that the new look is a welcome change in Wendover.
Samantha Lafferty, landlord of the Firecrest, said: “We wanted the new look to provide guests with a cosy pub where they can enjoy dinner, have a few drinks after a long country walk with their four-legged friends or simply to relax and read the Sunday paper.
“The Firecrest is in a fantastic rural location on the outskirts of Aylesbury, and we have an amazing support network around us, so we hope that all of our guests, both regulars and first-timers love the transformation.”The Firecrest celebrated the reopening with a brand-new menu certain to tickle the taste buds of guests, with new dishes including Black Pearl Scallops seared with black pudding on minted pea puree with crispy bacon to start, British Venison Steak with spinach stuffed portobello mushroom, asparagus, dauphinoise potato & a red wine jus, and a host of mouth-watering puddings including a warming Sticky toffee & apple pudding.
To celebrate its new-look, the Firecrest is holding a ‘Taste of Vintage’ event where guests will be able to sample a selection of the new dishes, chat to Samantha and the team, as well as celebrate with a free glass of bubbly. The event will be taking place on Saturday 6thJanuary from 7pm.
