Cinderella is now open at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre!

La Voix and Andy Collins in this year’s production

Festive feelings are running high at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre with magical family pantomime Cinderella running from Fri 3 Dec 2021 – Sun 2 Jan 2022.

Starring CBBC presenter Mark Rhodes as Dandini alongside panto favourites Andy Collins (BBC 3 Counties Radio) – complete with his bra for three(!) and the most glamorous Fairy Godmother of them all, Britain’s Got Talent’s La Voix, this year’s talented cast are making up for lost time, and audiences are having a ball!

The production’s director Chris Nelson is in seventh heaven having directed the theatre’s 6 previous pantomimes, and is this year appearing on stage himself alongside fellow Ugly Sister Kristopher Milnes. Chris speaks fondly of the local audiences, and explains his reason for returning: ‘When I started here back in 2014 I could feel there was something special about the venue and most importantly the audience. They would often stop me in the street to let me know they’d been to see the show and give their thoughts and I really began to see how much people cared about the panto. To me the audiences are now a part of the show. I love that. The energy they give me along with our fantastic team on and off stage has kept me coming back and hopefully I’ll be able to celebrate my 20th year in panto at my 2nd “home” next year…’.

Completing the line-up is leading lady and title character Cinderella played by Gemma Naylor (Nick Jnr’s Go! Go! Go!), her charming Prince, Regan Burke, and Nick Harris, playing Baron Hard-Up in his debut pantomime.

With a stunning transformation scene, brand new costumes, hit songs and dynamic dance routines delivered by the ensemble cast of Harry Lydon, Chris Taylor, Shannon Rothwell, Emily Scott, Nikki Seymour and Jessie May Simmons, this year’s production is one not to be missed.

Andy Collins (Buttons) said the cast have a common goal this year: ‘We want to give audiences the ultimate escape and remind them what live theatre is all about. In fact, the team at the Waterside all share this sentiment – from the moment you walk through the doors the amazing Front of House team are there giving a warm welcome, and the Back of House technical team put in hours of work perfecting the sound, lighting and making the show run smoothly. It’s one to remember this year for so many reasons, and we’re all buzzing to be back doing what we love.’

Fairy Godmother’s wand is ready to make magic this Christmas, your carriage awaits!
