College Nursery Receives “Good” OFSTED Report
The Aylesbury College Day Nursery is delighted to learn that they have retained a ‘Good’ OFSTED report following a recent inspection. Based in the grounds of Aylesbury College, the Nursery looks after up to 84 children between the ages of three months and five years. It is consistently oversubscribed and has grown by 24 places since the last OFSTED inspection. Earlier this year, it celebrated 25 years in business.
Carole Carlin, Manager of the Nursery, said: “We were really pleased to acknowledge the comments about our great team of staff. The Inspector highlighted their knowledge of the children in their care and their routines, and the good relationships with parents and external agencies, meaning the children receive constant support to meet their individual needs.”
The report also noted that the nursery environment ‘consists of a range of activities to stimulate and interest children to learn, and as such, they make good progress from their starting points.’ It highlighted that a ‘friendly and caring approach helped children settle and feel comfortable. ‘
In 2013, the Government introduced tougher nursery inspection regimes to bring Early Years providers in line with schools and colleges. A consultation report recognised that Early Years education needed to give a ‘strong foundation’ for our youngest children.
